Things to look forward to 2009

Well it has been a whirlwind of a year we have been blessed tremendously in many areas.  Londyn has been able to attend a wonderful preschool that is great for her but even better for me.  Brick is growing up tons, talking lots, learning lots from everyone.  His stitches have finally dissolved I think.  Jonah goes to a great school and he is excel in his school work and of course he is a social butterfly.  Since I labeled this things to look forward to i will start my list. Instead of New Years resolutions i have decided to look forward to some things and maybe give up some bad habits like drinking caffine that will go soon enough.  Here are some of the highlights I have coming up

1. Londyn starting back to preschool. ( thanks Miss Roxi)

2. Jonah returning to school ( thank goodness for good public schools)

3. Brick and I getting some much needed mommy time ( taking away Binky and Silky) Scary one

In about 8 weeks I look forward to 

1. Sleeping on my stomach!!!

2. No more INDIGESTION!

3. No more peeing lots!

4. Holding a new sweet precious baby! 

To achieve the above 4 we all know will take pain( we won't go into detail OUCH) And yes Auggie labor is more painful than a hangnail so pamper Heather.

Don't get me wrong it has been a great journey but I don't think my knees can take to much. So I really look forward to this.

I also have set a goal to do a half marathon in 2009 so if anyone else is on board the more the merrier! Some more things I look forward to are William recieving  his Masters Degree around June. I can't believe it has been almost 2 years. We are excited for this coming year for our new addition to our family and moving to a new school to go for a PhD. OF course William will be doing the schooling while I try to keep everything running and everyone sane. As we say good bye to 2008 we have been blessed and look forward to the joys and trials come with 2009! Ring in the New Year Baby!!

Crappy Day

For all those reading this.  This is not Michie.  It is I her oldest child Buff (William) she has given me permission to use her blog to join the throngs.  I wanted desperately to join all you bloggers out there, but this may only be a phase that will pass like a kidney stone (extremely painful for everyone).  The title of this blog does not represent my day, it just went well with the picture of Jonah.  I have been reeling under the stress of a fourth kid (fifth for Michie) and the prospect of yet four or more years in school.  Not to mention the wonderful visit to Michie's parents house for the holidays (Londyn's claws and fangs have been extended).  It is absolutely amazing how fast she goes from sweet to crazy.  We went ice skating Monday and like a roller skating rink the crowd moves in a counter clock  wise direction.  Londyn being a beginner was given a kind of ice walker to help her stay uprightish.  As I was making my rounds with the other kids I noticed that she was going against the flow.  I thought I would turn her around and push her along with the flow.  The instance I touched her she instantly started kicking (good thing my skates protected my shins) and yelling.  I stopped and tried to explain the potential problem but as you can see in the photos we ended up doing things her way.  I think everyone in the rink saw the out break so they were cautious as we past thru.  But all out that is water under the bridge today was a good day.  We all went to Kids Commons (a fancy play land in Columbus) and let the kids run wild.  Jonah climbed a rock wall in about two seconds flat.  He just shot up to the top rang the bell and shot back done.  We payed $3 for 6 climbs, but after the first time he was done.  Londyn loved the Japanese house were she dressed up in a kimono and played house Japanese style.  Brick loved the basketball game, tennis ball thingy, and the Bubble room (A room where kids can make huge bubbles).  My favorite was the enormous toilet that kids could slide down and some sort of vacuum ball thing that if worked the right way will shoot balls at everyone.  But this was just phase 1 of my day.  Phase 2 Later Ernie and I went to mark his territory, meaning we went out to some land he bought and found property markers with the Farmers and a GPS unit.  It was a good time.  We found parts of his property that he didn't know existed.  In the end I probably covered about a mile of territory.  Mission accomplished.  Phase 3 When we got back Michie was frazzled meaning lets go out to dinner without anyone (This I like).  I drank a carafe of Dr. Pepper and Michie peed a lot.  We ate too.  We have learned that we can't go to town without a few stops to pick up things for Oma (Michie's mom, Oma is grandma in German, but I don't think shes German, but it makes her happy so why rock the boat).  This led us to Khols to spend her Christmas funds and of course return something.  We got her stuff and made it back without a stop by here phone call.  Most the kids were asleep and this always lifts the spirits.  We love our kids, but even more when they're asleep.   In case you never hear from me again it was good and I will always cherish the time we had together.

A stitch in time!

Well it has been a while mostly because of travel. Neway here are the updates from our family on the 12 of December Brick got 6 stitches in the back of his head thanks to Londyn. It has been said you don't mess with a womens chocolate we will add that you don't mess with a girls pretend birthday cake or she will mess you up!! He wanted to climb on her Dora table and it was interupting her birthday cake so she pushed him off the table. To this day we don't know what exactly caused the smiley face on the back of his head we just know who pushed him.  That was a great date night! The following friday we flew to Lousiville KY to visit some of my family for Christmas. It was a very turbulant trip and I almost threw up on both flights! We made it her safely got some great food and visited with my brother and his family then headed to Columbus to go to bed!  William and I made a trip to Oxford Ohio to check out a university for a  possible PhD. It went well we will find out more in February! It is a cute town.  So this is to my brothers and sister did you know that I just saw mom and dad's christmas cards and it says nothing about any of us it is all about them. How rude!! Neway i better sign off and get kids in bed so we can go to bed!

Turkey troy or should I call it frozen turkey

The title tells it all it was so cold. You all probably know the Rexburg wind well it was with us tonight for a little bit just to numb us up I guess you could say! The run was like 3/4 of a mile very lax, the mayor even ran in it, a few kids in jeans and jackets. Pearl ran it with me and it was great fun except it was frigid cold and I was numb the whole race. Then you know what happens when something is frozen thaws well I finally got warm after running now I am enjoying the aftermath. I had the hardest time not sprinting at the end I think it was because there was a girl about 12 that we were neck and neck and if I sped up so did she so I felt a little competition between us. Needless to say it was fun and I enjoyed a huckleberry cheesecake cone afterwords. YUM YUM! I also want to wish Austin on of my wonderful brothers a BIG HAPPY Birthday! He is a great person, brother, father, and of course an awesome eye doctor! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!! I love ya tons!Q

turkey trot

Well we made it safely to Rexburg and I wanted to know if anyone was interested in running the turkey trot here. It is only a mile and the cost is like 3.00. It is a noncompetitive race and I just want to do it to run off all that good food I will be eating the day before. But I do plan on hitting Granny g or b's whatever it is called afterword to compensate for the calories I burned during the run. It starts at 5 at the big tree and if you don't want to run it go to ice cream with me. Neway call me or post on the blog. My inlaws number is 356-6650

Help!!

I AM GOING CRAZY!!!! The kids fought constantly today for 2 hours. I was about to scream!! I was tempted to open that entertainment center and plug them all in!! Anyway we are almost done. Then it will be moderation in all things!!!

Sweet londyn turns 4

Well this post goes out to a very special entertaining little girl who turned 4 on November 6th! Happy Birthday sweet Londyn! Londyn enjoys preschool, playing princesses, playing games, pretty much anything girly. She will get down and dirty when needed to stake her territory! She is a great big sister. The other day on the way to my ultrasound she said I hope I have a black little sister. Well first of all I told her that couldn't happen she then said well maybe she can be brown. Kids say the cutest things. We also don't know what we are having. Londyn hopes and wishes it is a girl we will see. I keep reminding her it could be a boy and she retorts by saying but it can't be. She is full of drama and imagination and she NEEDS one on one attention. I hope by not doing t.v this week she gets real sick of me and decides that she doesn't need me 24/7. She always loves telling me what kind of a helper she was in preschool. She wants to take ballet! She just loves life. Here are some pictures of sweet LONDYN!!! Who loves Londyn??? No TV for a week !!

Am i crazy or what. Its not like my kids watch a whole lot of t.v I usually use it when I need to get something done like dishes or a little nap when Brick is down. William suggested we do it so today was the first day! It went rather well. No one really asked but Jonah. We wen bowling tonight and everyone was in the car but me and william said to the kids how about we lock mom in the closet and watch t.v tonight and then said no t.v for a week. They do love me!! Anyway is a picture of me with a new do and of course me prego!!

A call out to all you Rexburg Friends!

Hey we are coming up to Rexburg for Thanksgiving and I would like to know who is going to be home I also want to know if there are any 5k runs on thanksgiving or around it I will be missing the Turkey trot here so I thought I would see if there is one there. Granted it will be soooooo much colder but I am still game post on the blog if you know any!! Thanks!

reminder 5k tomorrow

Hey I just wanted to remind everyone that I signed up for the 5k on November 8 it is still a go. So the race starts at 10:00 in the morning at Orem Elementary They suggest you get there around 9:30 to get your stuff. Also if you have trouble finding your name it might be listed under me Michie Hokanson. Anyway I can't wait to run with you guys and see you all finish before me!! Neway reminder 5k tomorrow at orem elementary!! Don't forget or I will be walking away with a few extra shirts.!

Finished and ready for the next one

Well I have to day that the Halloween run I did on saturday night was AWESOME!! I told myself before the race I wanted to get in before the clock said 40 minutes and can I say that I was plesantly suprised when I came in and the clock said 33:52. I was on a high the last 5k I did it took my like 36 or 37 minutes. I was anxious all day Saturday because I didn't know what to expect but it was a great course with hills up and down through it all. We also went through a graveyard which was nice and dark with lots of pot holes. My friend Meghan and I talked about the first mile then we turned on the tunes but we finished together. The best part of the race was coming to towards the finish line and getting Londyn and Jonah by the hands and letting them help me finish!! Anyway if anyone is interested there is a 5k on November 8 at orem elementary for Make a wish it is at 10:00 in the morning and is only 5 dollars and you get a shirt too! So any takers give me a call!. I am going to do it unless something comes up !

Long time

Well it has been a long time since I have had a chance to blog. There are lots of things I have wanted to write for everyone to read, but lets just say I havem't had much time! In 5 days I will be running my last 5 k till this little bambino is out of my stomach. Let me clearify I said last 5k not my last run I hope that won't be till I deliver but who knows> I am a little nervous mainly because my runs lately haven't been the best, but I wanted to go out with a bang so I am doing a halloween run in American fork at night time which will be different. I will definaltely get a good nap in before that race. I will up date everyone after the fact.. We had the ultrasound of our baby last week and amazingly enough I told the tech we did't want to know. So we walked away just knowing that we are having a baby. The have to do another ultrasound in 4 weeks to check the heart ( couldn't get a good picture) and to make sure I am still not carrying a lot of fluid. Other than that the baby was very discreet we got a picture of an ear, arm to face, foot print, leg, and eyes! The baby didn't want to cooperate very much so needless to say we saw a lot of the babies spine which looks really cute. Jonah has been on a little fall break and has kept Londyn occupied it has been realy nice. Londyn has been enjoying drawing pumpkins lately and ghosts, Brick what can I say he has almost passed out on us several times because he is clumsy. He is really into Elmo he walks around the house saying Elmo. And today he said the word pumpkin! William is pluggin along in school he just got back from a field trip I am wondering when I am going on a field trip by MYSELF! Other than pounding pavement, working on perfecting my donut recipe, and trying to a get rest I am pretty much doing the same thing every day!!! I feel Like I am in the movie Groundhog day! Running, passing out and joys of parenting!

Well this weekend has presented itself to to be an interest one. Friday night was nice Anadarko was in town interviewing students for jobs and interships. That night the recruiters took the graduate students and their wives to dinner at Sundance at a nice restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, the food was o.k , and the best part we had a free expensive date and all we had to do was pay the sitter. Nice way to start the weekend. Saturday morning I got Kailia, And my friend Mehgan to do a 5 K with me. As I was running I began thinking why in the world am I doing this. They started the race at 9 so the weather was getting warmer so it wasn't the ideal circumstances for running. But I finished in one piece. Kudos to Kailia she had a baby 5 weeks ago and when I was running I past someone who was 7 1/2 months pregnant. So it can be done. We got home from the race and I took Londyn and Jonah to a party at Chucky Cheese. That evening I was able to attend the Relief society Broadcast it was real enjoyable. Thanks Pearl for going with me. Now on to Sunday I had a feeling Brick had strep mostly because he loves getting it and it is going around. Well the test came back postive I opted for shot over daily antiobiotics. Bad idea as soon as he got the shots his eyes rolled back he went stiff and the nurse and I freaked out we didn't know if he was passing out or having a seisuze so we were blowing in his face and splashing him with cold water. HE FREAKED Me out. he finally came to and we got to stick around the office for another 20 minutes to make ehe was o.k. I am still replaying everything in my head and it was so scary. He is doing good now! But i think I will think twice about shots from now on. Anyway later!

5k plus more

Well to celebrate being 17 weeks pregnant I decided it was time to run another 5k. So I signed up for one and was pleased with the course they sent us on the provo river trail so it was a very beautiful run. When I was on my way back I was o.k with the fact that I was not going to get my usual time considering I am pregnant, But i decided I had to at least beat 40 minutes so I ran in at 39.54. I was pleased with the time mostly because I didn't walk at all. I really didn't need to either it was mostly in level ground so I enjoyed it to the T! After we finished the announcer guys said we apologize but we miscaluculted the course and you guys actually ran 3.6 miles instead of 3.1. I WAS SO EXCITED! It was a great way to start the day. I am hoping that I can do the Turkey trot in November but I will almost be 6 months so we will see!! Neway after the race Pearl and i were talking about how long the race seemed now we know why!! Hooray for an extra 1/2 mile....!! So i think I actually did my average which I am happy about!

Music

So yesterday I went running and I was listening to my usual pepped up music and then some bagpipe music came on or something totally different than I was used to listening to as I ran, but can I just say that I had to listen to that song two more times just because it gave a new meaning and feeling to running. I think I will try and change my pace of music. Call me crazy but 6 more days till I run a 5 K. I am really excited!!

Burned down

Well we found our yesteray that they house that we stayed in for WIlliams familyt reunion burned down. we dont know many details, but it was a nice house. They had a big fish tank with some nice big fish so do you think the glass broke and the fish fell out or do you think they cooked? Crazy we wanted to go back someday but now that wont happen. Oh well!

Baby-sitting

On Saturday I thought it would be nice if Jonah and Londyn learned some resposibility so I asked them to baby-sit Brick so William and I could go back to bed. Waking up on a satuday at 7 is not fun! So I told them I would pay them each 2 dollars to watch Brick for an hour. They said o.k. This is what happened 10 minutes after we laid down Brick came in and joined us in bed. 3 minutes later Jonah came in and asked where his hot cocoa was. I reminded him he was supposed to be babysitting Brick. He looked in our bed and said But he is right there. ( that defeated the purpose.) Next I hear Jonah telling Londyn she stinks and Londyn replying do you know how to run the bath? Jonah said it is a secret! A few minutes later I hear Londyn say where is Brick? Wow I definatley wont be asking them to babysit anytime soon. The other night I was laying with Jonah and I told him good night I love you. He didn't respond, so I said it again, this time he said good night but he wouldn't say I love you. I asked him why and he said it makes him really shy to say I LOVE YOU! How cute is that. LAst night he finally said it to me really quiet and he got really embarrassed! We love our bashful Jonah, Our vivacious Londyn, and our sweet Brick who thinks he is all that and a piece of pie!!

Farewell to daily blogging

Well it is official our internet is being disconnected tomorrow so I will not be doing daily blogs hopefully weekly or when something important happens. But just so no one thought I dropped off the planet. Call me crazy but I signed up for another 5k and I am excited to do it.

As I was going down to feed my grandma I was listening to some BYU station and my thoughts turned to an old friend Jewell who passed away on Friday from Cancer. She was one of those people you don't forget she definately left a lasting impression on me. I regret not keeping better tabs on her. I first met her in our ward in Rexburg she was over Enrichment when I was in the RS presidency. She was outgoing and always willing to help. I remember on a few occasions we went walking together. While I was in Indiana one summer I got word that she had her baby 6 weeks early little Jamison.They were in our ward for a little longer then Scott graduated and they moved to Washington state. I lost track of her then but a few months ago on of my friends who visit taught her asked if I remembered Jewell Milam and I said yeah who could forget her. She then proceded to tell me she was dying of cancer. As of right then they were just treating her for pain not for the cancer. She has been on my mind since that weekend I found out and it just made me sick inside that such a good person would be taken from her husband and two children. But it is a good thing we have that gospel because I am sure without a doubt that she was needed on the other side and there is no doubt in my mind where she is. She was an amazing person who touched many lives. This post is mostly for myself, but I am sure others will feel of her spirit as they read this post! My prayers go out to Scott, Jamison, Callie and their familes! We sure love ya!!

Rainy days!

Remember those good old days when it would rain and you would go outside and play in the rain. Well we had one of those nights it started to rain so we opened the door and let the kids feel the rain on their face and feet well we all know what that led to you guessed it everyone running in the rain, jumping in the gutters, it was a ton of fun a little wet of course. We actually came in and Brick was throwing a fit because he wanted to go out again so we did another round followed by a warm bath and hot cocoa. Jonah was running up and down the sidewalk yelling ITS A MIRACLE!! How cute is that! Anyway everone is now tucked into bed and hopefully asleep. Here are some before and after pictures if haircuts!! What a day!

Well today started out great I got to sleep in till 7:30 I woke up Jonah and took him to school, and when I got back no one was awake so I had a few minutes to eat breakfast and read my scriptures before the other ones woke up.. Well after everyone woke up I thought I would go jogging with Londyn and Brick. I got to the big circle we call it and I pulled up to this fenced area with a rooster and come chickens and ducks in it. I started to stretch when Londyn started screaming and I learned that Rooster can break the skin when they peck. Poor Londyn had a nice cut on her finger from that dumb rooster. Needless to say I didn't get my run in. We went home and cleaned up the house a bit then i rode my bike and pulled the kids in the trailer to get stuff for Londyn because tomorrow she starts preschool. Our day went good for a couple of hours till Brick managed to climb on the table and then somehow fall of the table. Then he was playing in my cupboard and broke a tupperware dish, and as i was cleaning it up I got a nice cut on my finger. Oh did i mention that while at target i let Londyn get bandaids. Bad move on my part she went through about 4 barbie bandaids till she found the perfect one. What did she do with the rest. She stuck them on the table. I know our kitchen table has boo boos but bandaids? Our day got better i finally got a run in and then after i am sure I blew all the calories on a white chocolate crunch. MY fAVORITE RIGHT NOW. growing up

Well lets just we were so excited when Brick turned 18 months on Saturday you all know what that means Nursery. We thought he would do great, but we were wrong he threw a fit and screamed. We have a babysitter like every week so I thought he would be fine, but I guess he is going through some separtating anxiety or something. He cries when I leave without him. Neway here are some cute pictures of him on Sunday. When we were getting ready to leave he picked out his own shoes and guess what they were? They were Londyn's high heel dress up shoes. We had to persuade him to wear other ones.!! Who loves Brick??? MeEEEEEEEEEE

Jonah's 6th birthday party!

Well I know that it is way late because Jonah celebrated is 6th birthday on july 2 but I haven't had the patience to sit down and write about it. Jonah actually celebrated his birthday in Rexburg this year because we were there for a reunion. But he still wanted to have a friend party so on August 1 he had 8 friends over for water balloon fights, races and a quest for the allspark. He had a great time and he enjoyed all of his friends. It worked out that Londyn was at a party too and Brick went down for a nap shortly after it started which was nice because I needed to do damage control with 8 kids running around. I wanted to tell you all about my sweet Jonah, most of you know him and know without a doubt he loves superheros. He could tell you anything you wanted to know concerning them right down to their real names. He is also into Ben 10, and a little star wars. In did really good in kindergarten last year and he got the most bashful smile award. You all know that embarassed Jonah smile. When he goes to friends houses he tends to not talk to the moms even if they ask him a question because he is so embarassed. That embarassment will come in handy when he hits his teenage years. Whenever Londyn, Brick and I go to eat lunch with Jonah he does his sly embarrased smile and nonchelantly wipes his smile off his face. He loves Brick and Londyn a lot even though they fight some times. He is hoping for a sister this week it might change next week he said. He is enjoying first grade and loves the idea of eating lunch with all his friends! He is a good boy! who loves Jonah??? MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Home

Well the kids and I returned safely from my midlife crisis trip to washington I will call it. The kids had so much fun playing with cousins and I dreaded coming home to hear the question can someone come over? I just want to say hello that is one of the reasons I have kids so you guys can have someone to play with. I guess that isn't good enough. Anyway everything was going smoothly till about 15 minutes before we were to take the shuttle to the airport I came down with a migraine and anyone that has had one. I HATE THEM with a passion, the blurry eyes, the nasueated stomach, and especially the sencitivity to light and noise. So of course of all days I get one when I am flying alone with kids. We were able to take a shuttle 20 minutes later and by then the blurry stage was gone, and the pain started to sink in along with the nausea. And can I just say Seattle airports need a DEEP cleaning you would think just the stinch of urine would make me throw up but no I felt nauseated for about 30 minutes of the flight then it started again when I landed. Needless to say I still have the sour stomach and sensitivity to light but it feels good to be home. I had a great time with everyone in Washington. When we were passing through Oregon we literally flew by Mount Rainier. It was so cool. the kids thought it was awesome!! It was huge and we were so close. We were probably between 10,000 and 20,000 ft. It was weird to see it so close. Anyway we are home and safe. Brick is asleep and the other ones are close to themselves. Love ya all

Can we give people as gifts??

My neice Clarissa is so cute. One day I found her and she had wrapped Brick up in a mexican blanket with a bow around his waist and a big bow on his head, and he was just looking up at me soo cute. She then proceded to wrap up everyone else, then she posed the question can we give people as gift? Later that night Londyn was super tired and she didn't want Clarissa sleeping by her so I told Clarissa to go in later when she was asleep and then sleep next to her. I went to check on Londyn a little bit later and guess what I found Londyn wrapped snug as a bug. Clarissa had waited till she fell asleep then she wrapped her up real good. She is going to be a great mom she has the SWADDLING SKILLS to a T!

Midlife crisis

Well as I have been in Washington there are a few things I WANTED to do and one of them was learn how to ride a motorcycle. Well today I did it. It was scary at first, but then it was a lot of fun! Sand isn't the best to try and turn in though i learned that thankfully not the hard way. On my ride a butterfly flew into my leg and died kind of a wierd feeling. All in all it was a lot of fun. I am itching to go for another ride. Hopefully I will get some pictures!

Whack a goat!

Well the kids and I made it safely to Wasington and then to Mattawa. The weather was gorgeous so we ate out on their deck. After dinner we went and fed the goats. Brick took a laddle with him and proceded to hit the fence. the goats thinking that Brick had food came up and brick thought he was at Chucky Cheese and he went to town whacking each goat on the head. I think maybe they learned brick might be bad news, but I don't know how goats think. He also was able to ride two of the goats and I think he enjoyed it very much! Well its good to be here everyone slept through the night which was really nice because I was really tired. We are off to a water park today pictures to come!!!

home and alive!

Well we survived the Hokanson family reunion and I think I was maybe the only one in our family that actually cried mostly because I was HUNGRY and ornery! Needless to say we really enjoyed our time in Idaho and Wyoming. The house we rented was way nice. The pots and pans weren't the greatest and there was no AC so at times it was miserable sorry everyone. I took the liberty and broke down the top 6 things about this reunion they are
6. we stayed in a wicked nice house with a hidden playroom. *( toys still managed to get about on every floor)
5. We were able to stay up late after kids went to bed and talk ( I dont know if I really stayed up late)
4. The kids were occupied so we only really had to worry about tho em at mealtime and bedtime. ( that only pertained to the older two, Brick almost always had one of us knowing where he was!
3. We only had to cook one meal
2. Williams whole family was there!

1. I held baby Jax alot, there is something about holding little newborn, they are so precious and they have a special spirit about them. Because you know they just came from Heavenly Father and they are just tooo precious. Thanks Jenny for putting up with me ALWAYS wanting to hold baby Jax!! Brick + Toliet= TROUBLE

Well it is offiicial Brick likes toliet water two to one! The other night I was reading with Jonah and Brick came in with SMILE ON HIS face and a flashing mug full of water. William and I both look at each other wondering if the other person had gotten him the water when we realized that neither one of us got it for him. He then proceded to fugure out which toliet that water came luckily it was from our toliet so the water was as clean as toliet water can be. I am happy it wasn't from the kids bathroom because they tend to never flush! Gross! I guess I should have told Brick what a big boy he was since he got his own water but I think we will have to continue teaching him that the toliet isn't for drinking. Well we are off to Rexburg for a day then off to a reunion in star valley so blogging might be scarce! We had our first appt yesterday and it was weird not going to the usual doctors. I really don't know if any of the staff are nurses, they used a wrist cuff to take my blood pressure, I think they only have one device to listen to the babys heartbeat, ( because they kept coming in my room to borrow it only to come back again , and again), It was just such a low key office. I don't know if thats what I want In an OB doctor. He did do an ultrasound I am glad he knew how to use it. The baby looks good. I am right on schedule we saw the heart beating. It was really scary! I don't know if I am ready for this again. I guess I have no choice. Last night I hadn't exercised yet so Jonah rode his bike, while I jogged with Brick and Londyn were in the jogging stroller. I thought I would die because I haven't run with the stroller in a long time but it was really refreshing and nice. Especially the sprinklers that were on randomly through the trail. (Brick didn't like that since all he had on was a daiper and one shoe!) Well I hope all is well with everyone. As for me I am cranky so I better get going! lOVE YA aLL

call of duty

Last night we went to my cousin Bridgetts wedding reception and lets just say Londyn jumped right in she saw that Bridgetts nieces were getting there hair done so she squeezed her way in there and came out with pretty curly hair and she insisted on having a flower in her hair just like the other girls. She then preoceded to follow them around and do what they were doing when it was time to go outside for dancing the nieces were carrying her train and guess who was in the exictement too you guessed it Londyn she was leading the pack and she was the only one who didn't have the matching dress they were all sporting, but she did not care. She thought Bridgett was a princess and she was getting in there to do what she could do. While they were having dancing Brick was dancing alone so I went and joined him. Then I got Charlotte(My cousins daughter) to dance and can I say Cute they were both holding hands and moving from side to side. I will post a picture later when I get one. It was sooooo cute!! During this whole time Jonah was playing with ammon. It was an ideal location for a wedding reception because the place had a playground. It used to be a school.

The birthday boy

Well Yesterday was my sweet husbands birthday. H e is a big bad 31! Let me tell you a little about our day. Monday(the day before williams b-day) I went to bed thinking how am I going to get everything done that I need to for williams party. Luckily my kids woke up at 6:20 so I was blessed wih a head start. Thanks kids! )hear the sarcasm) Anyway Londyn helped me decorate the living room with crete paper and she even designed a smily face with crete paper she was really proud. Next we cleaned rooms and started on breakfast and everyone helped Brick put blueberries on the pancakes, Londyn flipped them and made orange juice, and Jonah made eggs. Man with helpers like this why do I need to get them sippy cups with chocolate milk?? Needless to say we got breakfast made and were about to assemble it to take into william when he came out so I firmy told him to go back to bed but of course in a somewhat nice manner. I didn't go through what I went through not to do breakfast in bed. Anyway breakfast was nice. After breakfast I took the kids to get Willaim some presents. Needless to say we took everything back because under the distress of having all three kids and feeling a little dizzy i got XXL thinking it was an XL wow that was a fast one pulled over on me! I went and got lunch for us at Cafe Rio and somehow snuck in a quick nap, before jonah and londyns friends arrived. Since the kids were occupied william and I were able to finally finish the whole season of Arrested Development. Funny show! Well for dinner I made some ribs, corn, rolls, and honey dew. It turned out pretty good. After dinner as Londyn said we put fire on the cake and sang the ususal happy birthday song. Can i say that the kids helped me make the cake, frost it, and put the candles on the cake. ( the candles were placed randomly on the cake but the did get all 31) After cake and Ice cream I was still feeling dizzy so i did as the doctor ordered and drank more liquids. Do not drink 32 oz of water on a already full stomach it will cause the following cramping, feelings similar to a water ballon being filled up in your stomach, followed by the release of the water ballon which causes a huge blowout coming out of the mouth and nose. Do not attempt it was not fun. Not even 5 minutes later Out little climber Brick was attempting to climb on the window sill and he hit something which caused him to fall and almost pass out. It was really scary! We were blowing in his face and his eyes were rolling back it was horrible, but I don't think he had any bad side effects from it. After all that drama We had some suprise visitors Cari, Brittney, Emilee, and Riley( Williams brothers wife and 3 of their kids were in the area and stopped by) What a fun visit from them and it helped make williams special day even better! After the left we watched a few more episodes of Wipe out on ABC (FUNNY FUNNY SHOW) I think I was almost crying at one point! I finally crashed at almost midnight. Buff and I have been married for almost8 years and yeah it has had its ups and downs but man he is a great catch, he is sweet, definatly my handyman, Great husband, and dad. His kids love him sooooo much. Happy birthday William

call me cinderella and packing up

So the other day I was bringing home 4 other kids not counting my own from cousin camp and I had a little girl Londyns age in the car. Her name is Juliana any way they were playing and Juliana asked Londyn now whats your name again and Londyn proceded to say just call me Cinderella the princess. So she did call her cinderella! Can I say high maintenance. On Sunday after a crappy nap I came out and say that the kids were packing up there clothes for a trip we are taking in a week and a half. Needless to say they made a mess. Jonah was Londyns little servant and whatever she wanted down from her closets top shelf he got d0wn. Sad how clean my house was and how dirty it is now!! BOO HOO! I have my work cut out for me today!. So needless to say after we had a very stressful day with kids we said this is definately a night for the happy pill. SO every child got a 1/4 of a tablet and there were no fights for bed time thank you! I even took some bendadryl and knocked myself out at about 8:30 to try and forget about the crazy day!. I also have a lovely sinus infection so I will be visiting the doctor today so I can feel better! William and I had a great time on our overnight date. iT was much needed and very relaxing. WE were gone 23 hours and Brick was the cutest when we came home he made a hahahha sound and galloped over to me and snuggled. Jonah and Londyn hugged us and wanted to know what we brought them. I wonder if they were a little disappointed with their rice krispie treats! Well I better get started on the dreadful task of cleaning up after the tornado!!!

My day got BETTER

Today was one of those days that I thought the whole world was crashing down on me. (thanks to the added pregnancy hormones) I was in charge with my cousin EMily for cousin camp, and lets just say things were a little harder to get done. Anyway when I left my house to go to draper it was a MESS even though I did a good pickup yesterday. I was frazzled and just kept thinking relax you will have time to clean when you get home. ( william and I are going on an overnight date tonight and i wanted the house clean for Aunt Pearl) Anyway I was on my way home and I was DREADING cleaning because I felt tired and my throat hurt. When I walked in and saw that my house was clean I cried. Literally I cried it was like the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. AND who do I have to thank for this saving grace MY HUSBAND he is amazing. The other day he spent 6 hours working on our car and saved us a lot of money! Anyway I wanted everyone to know how much I LOVE MY HUSBAND and How grateful I am for this act of kindness! It made my life a million times better!!!

tooth fairy

Well today Jonah officially lost his first tooth. This morning we went on a bike ride to the library and he had to stop twice to wiggle his loose tooth he said. Later today he was eating a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich and he came in saying that his tooth was bent back so I grabbed a tissue and pulled it out. For some reason Jonah does not like the sight of blood, so as soon as he saw that he was bleeding he starting getting upset and spitting the blood on my kitchen floor! We were then talking about the tooth fairy and he asked if he could put in options on what the tooth fairy could bring him. He asked if I was smarter than the tooth fairy or if the tooth fairy was smarter then me. OF course I said that I am smarter than the tooth fairy. He then asked if the tooth fairy could be tricked. I said why he said because maybe if my friend loses a tooth he could give it to me to put under my pillow after the tooth fairy visits him. I got a kicker out of that! He specifically asked me to take a picture with just him in it so here are some and then here are some of the kids!!

Cute things

Well I wanted to write some things that Londyn has said lately that are cute. One day she said that some day we are going to go on a rocket and look at constellations. Another time she said that I was a cheater because we were doing an I SPY book and it was my turn, but she said I was a cheater because she said it was her turn. I think during the whole book she called me a cheater about 4 times. Yesterday we were going to cousin camp and to get there we go past the point of the mountain when we were passing it Londyn asked if that was the Grand Canyon? I just told her it was some sand dunes. She says the cutest things lately she also asked yesterday if we could trade Brick for a little sister!! ( I was babysitting a little girl yesterday that Londyn thought would be a fun sister. Except she wants to name a little sister Shelly. Neway everone is doing well Brick is still sleeping through the night. Jonah is enjoying swimming. Can you believe that was her?? She has grown up so much!!

4 of July

Well we had a fun day yesterday. We got up and left our house at around 6:15 to go to provo. I was doing a 5K. On the way to pick up Aunt Pear(she also ran in the race) We got to see the hot air balloons start to blow up so the kids enjoyed that. While I was running the race the Kids and william were at the finish line and they got to see some hot air ballons land by them they thought that was cool. As for me I fisnished the race but I didn't have hardly an umph to do good this time luckily my knee didn't hurt. After the race we decided to go watch the parade that was fun. Londyn lucked out with a cute Tiara that some lady has made and she got it for 2.00. She was thrilled! When we got home I took the kids swimming at a friends of a friends pool. After we came home Londyn got all dolled up in her princess attire and asked Jonah if she looked Beautiful and he responded very cranky I ALREADY ANSWERED YOU SO STOP ASKING IF YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL!! She tends to ask Jonah that a lot so his response is getting more agitated. I told him that girls like to be told they are beautiful. We had some friends over for dinner which we really had breakfast food for dinner instead of the usual BBQ. It was fun the kids had fun. After our friends left we did our fireworks and can I say Jonah has warmed up to the idea of fireworks more than last year, Londyn still is scared of them, and Brick wanted to practiculy eat the fireworks he couldn't get enough of them. At one point Londyn was in bed, and William and Jonah were sitting on the truck bed watching fireworks and Brick was standing by the door screaming and wanting to go watch more. He finally went to sleep after EVERYONE was inside. Needless to say all struture went out the door last night and we have some tired kids!! Right now Londyn is at a princess birthday party dressed to the T and I'm sure she is loving it,(they had some Aunts or something dressed for the party and they were doing to make a special appearance!!) Beautiful sounds!

Well this morning as I was waking up I was able to hear Jonah and Londyn carrying on a conversation in the living room. ( they both woke up in the middle of the night and for some reason they want to go back to sleep in the living room) They were discussing that they wanted a dog and they were arguing over who got to hold the puppy first. They carried this conversation on for a little while then they proceded to do the unthinkable wake me up. J/k on the unthinkable part. Jonah said that he wanted to name the puppy Kool-aid I don't know if that is because he is consuming too much Kool-aid or maybe he likes the name. Who knows. Brick has started saying the word OW and he says it with pretty much everything Ow to getting dressed, Ow to getting in the highchair, but its funny he didn't say OW when his head met the pavement. Right about now Kids are still awake and I am feeling a little cranky! I will write more later

Life in the fast lane

Well it has been a while since I have had a chance to write on my blog we will see how long it lasts considering all the kids are awake. Neway we returned safely from our vacation to NC and Indiana. It was some good times. We have been trying to get back in the swing of things I will briefly recap the past couple of week. ( Brief pause i need to wash Bricks hands he got in the toliet.) When I washing Bricks hands Londyn slipped on the floor because she and Jonah found water guns so that is why Brick is all wet. I guess he is an easy target. Poor baby! Well these past couple of weeks have been spent riding bikes, running, and cleaning the house. Cute recaps of the kids. Two days ago Jonah came up to me and said there was a hair on top of Bricks head that was driving me crazy so I cut it. He continued to say "was that ok?" I said do you think maybe it was because the fan was blowing his hair he said maybe. I didn't care as much as William did. Of course the hair he cut was right in the middle of his head. Bad choice of cutting spots. Jonah has been playing lots with his friend Mason mostly cuz his other friends are out of town I am so glad they are now home. Change!! Londyn is still my sassy girl. She loves to give that pursed lip look and then either hit you or smile and I am sure she is thinking ME sweet me? NO. Brick is talking more and is trying his boundries to see how much he can get away with. While I am typing the kids have managed to get a bowl full of water, the door openeded, and I really don't want to see the damage quite yet. I do hear Brick and his hand is making a splashing sound. We will deal with that later. William has been going to the University of Utah to work with a profesor up there on his thesis. It is going pretty well as I understand. We have gotten into the show Arrested Development lately so needless to say we have been enjoying our evening time when kids are FINALLY ASLEEP! As for me I have still been trying to run daily and I continue to enjoy it more and more. Yesterday I did another 5k and it was by far my worst time ever and I would like to contirbute the following reasons 1. lack of sleep ( my babys till doesn't sleep through the night) 2. We ran on soil not concrete ( we ran through lavendar fields, although I barely smelled lavendar because of the overpowering smell of skunk) 3. I tweeked my knee and for the whole first mile It hurt bad, but once it went numb it was better. and the 4 reason is frum role No one was there at the finish line to cheer me on!! The reason why is because the race was in Mona ( 40 minutes away) I didn't want to torture my family by waking them up early just so I could do better!! Neway they will be at my next one on the fourth of July. Well It has been a long time, but hopefully I have updated well. I have to say it is nice having a son that can read because as I finish typing Jonah is able to read a book to Londyn and Brick!! Hooray for school.!! When does it start again???

Vacation

Well it has been a while but we have had a totally awesome family vacation in the Outer banks of North Carolina.  It was gorgeous, the weather was nice, the company was great, and it was so relaxing.  It was sad to leave.  I have to say that there is something about the ocean that makes me so happy.  The waves were awesome to jump through. The kids had a ball.  Londyn and Brick hardly went in the ocean, but they did go in our PRIVATE POOL.  That was probably the best part was having a pool and hot tub to ourselves. I learned an important lesson from my nephew Bryce he said that if the waves are bigger than you RUN FAST! After a run one day I decided to jump in the ocean and jump a few waves needless to say I was swept over by a wave! But vacation was fun we are forever gratful to my brother and his sweet wife for letting us share the beach house with them!! look for pictures to come!!!

Flood

Well as many of you know right now we are in Indiana on vacation and Columbus where my parents live was FLOODED bad. It was crazy how much water there was.  William, My sister and I started out the first half of the night knocking on doors evacuating people. Then that lead to giving people rides to their houses, and then the real excitement starts.  We saw that there was a subdivision that was getting buried fast with water so we decided to help.  We helped a lady and her grandson get out of the water. So then we went to help a Japanese family get out of their house and it was crazy how when we first started this adventure the water was to my hips when we helped the japanese family out it was to my midsection.  Needless to say more excitement happened and we finally went to bed at 3:30 in the morning. Thank goodness church was canceled on sunday.  Then around 6:30 I woke up panicked because I couldn't breath so I woke up William and my dad and they gave me a priesthood blessing and within 10 minutes I was doing a lot better! 

Exercise

Well today I ran yet another 5K and it was still tiring but not as bad as the last one. I shaved a whole 2 seconds off my time. It was a fun race because there were over 800 people in the race and it was definately a rush. As for the family we are all just hanging out enjoying the nice weather and each other. I will write more later my mind is blank!!

I can't blog!!

Well it has been three months since I last typed on my blog maybe it was
a. Lack of sleep
b. No time
c. Kids won't let me use the computer
d. I am just tired and would rather sleep then communicate with the outside world. Needless to say it has been a crazy couple of months with very little sleep. Brick finally started walking and he cruises everywhere he loves to see the reaction of others when he hits them or steals something from them. He has got me wrapped around his little fingers and all he does is whine and I am getting what he needs. I don't know if its that I LOVE being at his beckon call or if its the sound of his whine that puts curls on the back of my neck. Anyway he has me whipped into shape. As for Londyn she is SASSY. She has learned that if you make her mad she will stick out her little tongue at you and spit. I don't know where she came up with that I know I don't do that. Anyway she is totally into wearing dresses and I can't remember the last time she wore pants expect when she goes to bed. She is starting preschool in the fall and I'm sure she will love it. She loves having pretend birthday parties in her room with pretend huge cakes. Yeah it will be fun in the teenage years!! Jonah is finishing up kindergarten and has done really well. He is reading at a first grade level and loves having friends over. And friends love coming over I don't know if it's because we have a Wii or because I give the best snacks. J/k I finally had to set up certain days for friends so I didn't have to hear after school Can I have a friend over. He loves jumping on our trampoline and he just learned how to ride a bike. Hooray for Jonah. As for William he just finished up his first semester of graduate school and is still recovering from the beating he got. He is enjoying working with his professors, and still loves rocks. He was a great sport and weaned Brick for me which was not an easy task. So Kudos to my husband!! As for me I have found a new hobby running! I know it sounds crazy but I was sick of my muffin top and decided to do something about it. So one day thanks to my sister in law Pearl she said she was going running and I thought I want to try that again. (the last time I ran was 5 months earlier) I thought it was going to kill me, but i was plesantly suprised. After a week of jogging i decided I wanted to do a 5k. I looked up on line when the next one was and it was the following week so I had to decide to either run in that 5k or one the next weekend. So i didn't train at all i just signed up and showed up and ran and it was probably the hardest 31 minutes of my LIFE considering before that day the farthest I jogged was 2.3 miles. But as I crossed that finish line it was so INVIGORATING that when I got home I signed up for one the next weekend. So needless to say since that first one I have fun 3 and I am running my fourth next weekend. I am kind of getting the urge to do a half we will see. This past week my mom and sister flew out for womens conference and it was so much fun we stayed in dorms, eat out every meal, didn't stay up late(but woke up early not my choice), and I got to sleep through the night for the first time in 14 months. Oh how I missed my sweet sleep. Needless to say last night was HORRIBLE. We went to my inlaws and Brick was up a lot and since I don't nurse him anymore I didn't know how to help him. So here I go back to sleep deprivation!! Anyway life has been good I have found joy in running and am starting to like the outcome of how exercising has effected my BODY. Anyway I want everyone to know don't put off things for tomorrow when you can start today!! I guess I was just waiting for that skinny gene to come out in me I didn't know it involved hard labor!! hopefully I will do better !!

Brick

One of Bricks toys he got for his birthday was a car that you shake and then it goes. Brick kind of has the hang of it. He shakes it as hard as a 1 year old can and then he throws it down not gently but throws it down. Right now poor Brick is sick with influenze, croup, and who knows what else. POOR BABY! Tonight he still had a fever but he heard Londyn playing his guitar and he still tryed to shake his hand in the air. He cant resist he has it in his bones. Well see ya later i'm off to bed

Center Stage

Something cute Londyn did yesterday. She was having a talent show and i needed to sit in a certain spot. She stood in front of me with her 88 cent flute then she quickly put it down interlocked her finger and stretched them out kind of like she was either cracking her knuckles or stretching her priceless hands. She then picked up her flute and started playing and dancing . After wards I clapped and she bowed and she was so cute. Then she proceded to sing songs followed by a bow. She did a talent show later that night for William and she said that the flute was her prize for winning. She has got apersonality like none other. When she told me where to sit she pointed out where everyone else was sitting like oma, opa etc.

More today

I wanted to write more, but Brick was messing with computer, so I had to shut it off. It was really cute to see him eat his birthday cake. He had his arms down and he went in like he was bobbing for apples, but in his case he was bobbing for cake. It was soo cute. He got it everywhere, but thats the joy of first birthdays. I just got back from going to the grocery store, and for the first time he rode in a car cart, and he loved it. He actually pulled the steering wheel out of the car luckily it went back in. Well I have to say we are truly blessed to have Brick in our life he brings great JOY to our lives....

My Babys is 1!

Wow how the year has flown by. I am sitting comfortably in our recliner typing about our sweet little Brick who turned 1 today. He is full of life, smiles, and sleepless nights. He has his two bottom teeth with 4 coming in on the top. (2 of which have already poked through ouch) He has enjoyed us singing Happy Birthday to him multiple times he just smiles from ear to ear. He knows to some extent this is his special day. Thank goodness I feel better today compared to a year ago with a newborn waking and nursing more than I breath in 24 hours. Little bit exagerating, but not much. We gave Jonah and Londyn each a disposable camera to document Bricks birthday. Let's just say they will turn out interesting especially Londyns.

Well it is Sunday night, and lovely Night Rider is on, and 2 kids are asleep. It has been a crazy weekend with family in town. Jonah, Londyn, and Brick have had a ball playing with everyone. Our youngest Brick will be one on Saturday. I can't believe how a year has flown by. Nothing too exciting and i'm just learning how to blog so bear with me.
